Mosaic of life

Popping into my consciousness this week was the word 'mosaic'. It came as a rich symbol of my life. I was surprised and amused as I explored the meaning behind it. I looked up 'mosaic' in the dictionary and found that it is thought to derive from the Greek word 'mousa' or muse. If you look at the title of my other blog, 'Musings in the moment" the connection is quite clear.

A mosaic is a picture made of small tiles of colour surrounded by grout. It is only when all the tiles have been placed together, that the whole picture emerges. As a concept is created, images appear. Out of the context of completion, they are merely fragments which offer a limited glimpse of the whole.

I am a mosaic, the tiles and the grout. I know that I am guided with inspirational moments that connect me deeply to my truest nature. These moments flash into being, bright colourful tiles depicting the authentic representation of who I am. I recognise them in their unique singular beauty when they appear but often do not perceive that they make up a bigger picture which emerges as I know myself.

I am also the grout that glues the colours firmly separate while the bigger picture emerges. This allows me to process my ego's fears in the colour of that particular tile's inspiration, to have the experiences that are necessary for my growth in the moment.

As this happens, I am merging into wholeness and the completion of my creation of my life. It is simply awesome.
